I have come across an 05 GX Sport Package with 111K, all maintenance done. I am itching to buy it, and sell my other two cars. Owner is asking 17.5K. As much as I am hesitant to take on a payment on a used car, and increased fuel, this one as really got my attention bad. Going from a BMW 540i wagon and a honda odyssey. I just want one do it all truck. NOt concerned about reliability with this model either.

I have owned an identical vehicle since it was new--I have 108,000 miles on mine. I still love the vehicle, despite having some of the repair issues. The big one that got me was the air intake valve that cost $ 2,700 to replace at an independent shop. I also have a new radiator and had to replace one of the air bags in the rear suspension as well as a new dashboard, mainly covered by Lexus.

I still think it is the best vehicle that I have owned--I have a friend with a brand new 2014 GX460 and IMHO it is not remotely as well built or as substantial as the 2005 GX. These things are built like a tank and are very comfortable--I would say go for it. I think that is a fair price for a low mileage care with all of the maintenance--it is what I would expect to get for mine.

how much DIY can be done on a truck with this many systems?

If you have some knowledge and good google skills, a fair bit. Key skill is going slow so that you don't tear something up.
