you got it on the bolts. Check this thread out on the GS350. Same procedure with the jumper wire. I did my wifes GS350 and replaced 3 quarts at a time until I did 12. Would do 3 and refill, start for 2 seconds and do 3 more, etc until got 12. Then did the jumper procedure to top off. Note: he did 3 and then drove and did more later. I did all 12 in same procedure.

OK,great.Thats a great write up on that link you provided. He connected terminals CG (4) and TC (13) of the Data Link Calibrator (DLC3). Does our GX470 have the exact same dianostic plug and terminal numbers?

I looked at mine today and its pretty small.I cound not read anything..lol. I am going to buy a magnifying glass..

Thanks burny!!!! I do not see many people saying that they are replacing the trans filter, are most NOT doing that?

Either way I may do mine.Part of the exhaust pipe is in the way but the bolts are all kinds of rusted,so,I doubt I will be able to get them off.I may have a trans shop do the filter change and the first drain and fill and then I will do 2 drain and fills after that. Thoughts?

I have to be honest with you. I have never replaced a transmission filter. I have a 91 4runner I bought brand new and it still has original filter in it. I am pretty good about keeping everything on an aggressive maintenance schedule. Clean fluids may make the difference.

around 270,000. Still has original starter and alternator shells. I have just rebuilt them 3 or 4 times. Just changed fuel pump for first time at around 225k. That was a job as tank had to be lowered.

What are you guys paying for the Toyota WS fluid? I priced it at a Toyota dealer today. Price was just under $10.00 per quart.

Just watch the shipping as that may make it a wash at your local joint.

Price for Toyota do change the trans fluid is $600.00. Service guy said they do not reccomend it of course. He said they drain and fill it 3 times. He made it sound like it was a big issue because there is no dip stick and they had to hook a scan tool to the diagnostic plug. He also asid the WS fluid is expensive.I wonder what Lexus is going to tell me...

nuts man, just nuts. My local Toyota has a dedicated WS fluid machine and wanted around $200 which included 12 quarts of fluid. For that price I may let them do 2 of my vehicles when the time comes. I did the GS350 and it is not a bad job at all with 2 people.. For around $100 labor, I would let them do it if they let me watch. lol
