Thx for the tip; nice to see little tricks like this as people don't always read manuals for common activities like battery changes.

Thanks for the tip. I have had issues with my previous battery so I had become quite proficient at doing this. Self-taught unfortunately.

By the way, does anyway know the recommended battery capacity for GX 470? I put 95 amp.

Great tip!

This is also the same process for the sunroof that will lose the auto open/close functionality once power is lost. Most vehicles on the market with auto open or close functionality use this process.

I've been able to get the driver's side window and sunroof to work, but none of the other windows will roll up or down since I had the battery disconnected, what am I missing here? Power window lockout button is not engaged.

You're doing it on the affected doors, not on the driver's panel, right? Because the switch assembly in each door is actually a microcontroller that talks to a sensor on the window motor. And it's what has to be reset.

Ah, that's what I was missing, thanks! I was trying to do it all from the driver's door switches.

HELP....
I had my 2005 GX 470 in the shop (not a Lexus Dealership) for a timing belt/synthetic trans/oil. Apparently, the mechanic needed to disconnect the battery for the belt replacement. When I was driving it home this afternoon, I noticed the seat memory buttons were not working. Also, the passenger front and driver rear window would not operate.

I tried Mann777's directions to a "t" and it didn't work. I saw no flashing light on the switches while attempting. I'm wondering if a fuse blew when the battery was hooked back up?

Looking for some possible answers.

Thanks
Paul

When the battery is disconnected, not only do you lose your stored radio stations, but you lose the seat memory too. Just readjust the seat & steering wheel, then save the positions.

For resetting the windows - you have to be at the affected door. Left rear door? That's where you need to be to set it.
