Default Bluetooth system & Aux-in installation in GX470 COMPLETED

Hi all,

I installed a Parrot MKi9000 Bluetooth system on my non-navi GX470. The system works great, and the installation was simple.

Parrot system was $133 (on sale) at bestbuy.com. Regularly it's aroundd $200.
The harness was harness QCJBL-2, $100 from quickharness.com.

It seems like the system does not hijack the spearkers, but rather it inputs directly into the stereo. Music, video, navigation, and phone calls play very well. I was surprised.

It has auxiliary cables for regular aux input, old-school iPhone/iPod, and USB.

The only thing I don't like is a clicking noise when audio shifts between the stereo and the parrot, but other than that it works very well.

I put together a video highlighting the installation. You may view it here:

Regards all,

OA

Thank you for sharing this video and the installation details. One question I have is regarding the playback of the music with the Levingston system. When you stream the music, does the music play on just the two front speakers or does the harness fully integrates with the system and the music plays in all speakers?

Thanks again.

Since you have no nav, why not just replace with an aftermarket head unit? I WISH ours was nav-free for this reason.

I know this thread is old but I thought I would add my 2 cents.

To make an aftermarket install look 'clean':
$350 black dash kit
$100 dash kit paint matching
$400-800 aftermarket stereo
$30 Steering wheel controls module

So if all you want is hands free calling and maybe ipod hookup. A $150 adapter is a much better option. Additionally, I really like the look of the stock stereo.
