Ok, now the engine code is p1445 instead of p1442 code. It still says Manufacturer controlled auxiliary emissions controls. could this still be the 02 sensors? or the air induction pump. I'm pretty sure someone in Lexus club land has had this issue. thanks for everyones help. it is greatly appreciated.

I think part of the problem is you are looking up the P1442 and P1445 codes generically. You can also search them specific to the manufacturer and the descriptions provide more info. In this case:
P1442 TOYOTA - Stuck Closed In Secondary Air Injection Vacuum Switching Valve Bank 1
P1445 TOYOTA - Secondary Air Injection System Switching Valve Stuck Close Bank 2
This shouldn't have anything to do with your O2 sensors. These are the valves that open and close to allow air into the exhaust system to allow your cats to heat up quicker. It only applies when the vehicle is cold. This is the problem I had and the bypass will fix this. Well, it will stop the code from showing. The problem remains, but it doesn't effect anything. I think when the valves stick open it is a bigger concern, but that doesn't seem to be the problem here.
The other alternative would be to switch out the valves. I know they aren't cheap through a dealer, but I think there are aftermarket alternatives now. They are at the back of the engine and I would imagine quite a chore to replace.

2003 GX470 VSC OFF and ABS Lights... NO check engine
So yeah I have a similar problem, where after a particularly cold day of driving I have the VSC, VSC OFF and ABS Lights. In contrast, I do not have a check engine light and I do not have any OBD2 codes when scanned.
I've tried....
In addition I recently had the oil changed and front struts replaced ( < 1000 miles).
Puzzling, any suggestions?

- resetting gas cap
- resetting ECU thru battery disconnect

prado608 suggested a bypass kit for the p1442 and p1445 codes which showed no one and two air pump valves closed. I went to Hewitt technologies and bought the plug and play bypass kit. this kit costs $255.00, but all you do is unplug the maff sensor plug in the new kit, install 2 plates on top of the pipes coming from the valves which are right under the lexus engine cover. the you run the loose wire to the starter circuit breaker and you re done. all instructions are included. the company says it takes about 1/2 hour which is right.. I still plan on buying the pump and valves from autoparts warehouse later and installing them. the job is not as hard as some might think. thanks prado and everyone for their input. this club is a must for lexus enthusiasts.

Gas cap trigger warning lights
Installing a new gas cap on my 2007 GX470 has solved the warning light issue ( so far ). In a similar subject post Oxygen sensors were mentioned, especially if fuel mileage dropped off; mine dropped to 16 from 18. Disconnected the battery to reset the ECU. Which O2 sensor replacement could restore mileage?

It would be the one(s) that are downstream from the cats. There should be a code set if one of them is worn out.
If you have the coin, you might want to consider replacing all four at once to save on labor costs. They were all installed on the same day, so they're probably all in the same condition.

There are multiple problems that could cause these lights to turn on. with that said if your are able to check codes and receive a P0441 and or P0445 your vehicle most likely does not have the updated fuel cap needed to resolve this issue. Yes, there is an updated fuel cap for this problem. If this matches your issue/symptom, install new cap then go to a local auto parts store borrow their code reader/clearer and clear the codes. They often times will not clear the codes for you, but you can borrow the tool and clear yourself. I hope this helps.

That cap fits a number of Toyota products, including all of the GX470 (1st gen) models.

So yes, you bought the right one.

I am amazed that this has fixed this VSC, TRAC & Engine light problem in my 2003 LX470!
These lights came on after I had blown a CIG fuse due to an electrical short to ground associated with the Nav system wiring under the right hand seat. The short caused these lights plus the VGRS to come on and stay on. The VGRS light came good after a drive around - it has a self correcting function apparently if the wheels are not in the same alignment as prior to the fault occurring (I had moved the car a bit while the fuse was blown).
I had removed power at the battery and replaced the 15A fuse and after reconnecting they remained on. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting power a couple of times but to no effect.
I had checked the fuel cap a couple of times but that didnt fix the problem but after reading so many posts about it I removed it and applied some silicon grease to the O ring but also used a small Allen key to press the pressure relief valve a couple of times in case that had jammed and It seemed a bit stuck on the first push. After that it has come good and all lights are out and hopefully for good. The reason I checked the pressure relief valve in the centre of the fuel cap is that I noticed that each time I started the engine even for a minute or 2 and then removed the cap again a would hear a rush of air escape. It seems like the tank pressurises each time the engine starts but maybe the pressure was too high - perhaps that is to keep dust out or something?
Anyway thanks all for the ideas, tips etc.

Got those warning lights to finally go off!!!
