Default Subwoofer fix on a 2003 GX470

Can anyone tell me if the speaker cover can be popped off to get to the subwoofer or do I have to take the whole panel off? Thanks

It's quite likely that you will have to remove that entire side panel in the rear to access the speaker.

One of the first things I did after buying a Lexus was to go to Harbor Freight and buy the set of blue plastic panel removers. There's 5-6 of them, cost is about $8.00 and they look like a bunch of odd-shaped plastic pry bars. I have found several of them very useful in removing all those pesky black clips under our hoods, and also in removing body panels without scratching them.

As an option (not a good one), Lexus sells ONE panel remover for about $45. I see no difference between it (yes, I was dumb enough to buy one) and the ones from Harbor Freight.

Thanks for the input. Sounds like a project for a Saturday when the patience level is high!
