Does anyone experience noise that sounds to be coming from the back hatch/toolbox area when going over harsh bumps? If so is there a known fix for this? I was thinking of adding weather stripping in a couple of strategic locations.

You can add a thin foam pad & cut to the tool box size and sandwich them while you close. This will definetelly reduce the vibratiion

Ditto, I used a quarter inch thick foam pad and forced the lid closed. A small strip of foam on the bottom of the tool carrier.

Thanks for the tips, I took the tools out completely to see if it would make a difference and it did, the "rattle" is gone so I will definitely start searching for some thin pieces of foam. However even with the tool box removed there is still some squeaking that seems to be coming from the rear door, maybe the hinges? or perhaps something on the outside of the vehicle?? Any suggestions or experiences with this kind of noise?

Bubble wrap and styrofoam sheet will also work to wrap your tools.
