There is now a plug and play unit for sale on ebay that requires zero soldering. 2 harnesses and the 2 covers and you are done.

My air injection pump went out at 89,000 miles and when I sent my question to Lexus Customer Satisfaction(that is a joke)I got a call back from a COLD voiced person telling me my warranty had expired and there was NO recall on this item and Lexus would not any assistance. I told him that this problem was so bad that Toyota was now replacing on all 4.7 engines less than 10 yrs old and less than 150,000 miles. I told him, YOU are Toyota, just the marquee division, but basically the same company AND you buy the SAME part!!!! AND you and Toyota have know this is a defective part for YEARS!!!!!! I am NOT happy that I have had to shell out $2,000 for a part that they KNOW is bad and the Mother Co, Toyota is making a concession, BUT NOT LEXUS!!!! I wrote a long letter to the customer satisfaction dept, but do you think I got a reply???? HELL NO. I would like to resend but to a higher level of Lexus and copy my Congressman, BBB and JD Powers and anybody else I can to bring some pressure or embarssment to Lexus US. I own three. LS 430, GX470 and gave my Son my LS 400. Love the car, but NOT the POOR customer assistance to a known problem.
Any ideas?

It just happened to me. 2006 gx470 and right before 130K miles I get the Christmas tree of CEL, VSC, CSC trek, and slip indicator light. With a diagnostic I get the error code 2445, and there is foam in the pump and downstream. After looking today I found that a lot of Lexus vehicles were getting the same thing as they used a foam ring/seal that after time breaks down and bamb, you have a $3000 dollar fix. So Special. Instead of fixing their problem (Which they fixed in later models), Lexus throws out the Warranty horse fecal material line. Not cool and word will get around about it. If it happens to you, it takes a new secondary air Injection pump, maybe 2 check valves, a diverter and some gaskets. Hard to get to so MX time and cost is up. Youtube has videos how to fix. Special is all I can say as the vomit enters my thoat.

They didn't fix the problem, latest GX460's also have the same problem, they moved the pump to behind the right headlight.
