Default question about tire size for stock 17" wheel

Hey first off, thank you for sharing your mods; your GX470 is one BADASS truck. I'm a newbie to the GX470 class coming previously from driving sedans and sports cars, and I truly love the GX470 the way it handles and etc....But I wanted to ask you, if I stayed with the stock wheel size of 17" and not mess with the lift, whats the largest tire I can put on without compromising the ride quality, like causing rubbing and what not. I just want something that looks large and mean to fill some or most of the wheel well.

Thanks.

I have the same wheels and tires on my stock height GX and It's fine. Absolutely no need for a lift.

Blackcat - the tire and wheel combo looks sic on your gx.

I've recently become the owner of a 2003 470 w/81k and mint condition. I've the nebula blue and think those rims would look great on my ride.

You said no lift just stock height and no rubbing at all? Is there a difference in ride noise of comfort?

I trimmed the inner portion of the running boards where they wrap around into the wheel well and used a heat gun on a portion of the wheel well liner. Took about 30min and was very easy. The rubbing was pretty minor and only really noticed it in reverse. I can't even tell they're there unless I'm doing over 70mph, then they make a bit of noise. FN makes a killer wheel and their customer service is top notch.

Sweet Ride!!! Your GX looks really nice with those wheels and tire combo. Thanks for the advice and input. By the way do you have KDSS on your GX?

I really hate to bump an old thread, but I've tried searching here, the forum's posters's histories, and the FB group pages. I love the wheels and fitment. Can anyone let me know if a tire of this size would fit in the spare location? Does it matter which hitch you have?
