Okay so my friend has a 2004 GX470 and he wants HID foglights. I'm helping him do it but before he orders his kit I was wondering if i have to get a 55w hid kit because on the OSRAM's replace guide it says the the fog bulbs are H3-55w. Does that mean I need to get a 55w kit or could i get a 35w kit? I think 55w kits are too bright and I don't like the look when the fogs are brighter than the low beams. And does it matter if I get the H3C bulb or should i go with H3? I want to get the Morimoto kit from TRS and they only have H3C bulbs with H3 relays.

halogen bulbs are 50-55w. i believe even the h11 low beam is like 55w. if there is already hid kits in the low beam, get the same wattage. i think it's likely 35w. i am not a fan of the 55w hid kits

Just because the fogs use a 55w halogen bulb doesnt mean you have to use a 55w HID bulb / kit. You can use a 35w HID kit since the ballast is what gives the bulbs power.
