Default drive by wire lag

If im driving normally its fine but if I need to floor it to get over theres a 2 sec. lag from the time I floor it to the time I get power and its down right dangerous. I had a '06 Tundra with virtually the same VVT-i engine and it also had the drive by wire but I didnt have any lagging problems.

I removed the ground wire on the battery to reset the ECU but if it doesnt does anyone know what else I can do to adjust it or do I just have to get use to it?

I noticed last night if I dont press the pedal all the way to the floor theres no lag and I get instant power. And I dont think theres anything wrong w/ my GX, plenty of other model Lexus / Toyota owners complain about the same lag, I even read a few GX owners complain too.

EDIT: cant find others but heres one: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...ion-delay.html

2 seconds is a long time.

if you're talking about WOT instantaneously, then maybe half a second for the tranny to kick down a gear is what you're referring to? again, no complaints from my end. i rarely WOT anyways.

Talking

Get your MAF Sensors and Throttle Body cleaned, you will see the response immediately. Sometimes the carbon deposits rob the car on its fuel econ, throttle response, most important instant power, The change you will see it being more responsive and smoothness.I recommend it every Two years.
Here is the synopsis what needs to be done.
Material/Parts used:
1. CRC Masss Air Flow Sensor Cleaner [$6 from Schuck's]
2. Valvoline SynPower Carb, Choke, and Throttle Body cleaner [$4 from Schuck's]
3. 8mm and 10mm sockets with 3” extension
4. Needle nose pliers (to slide hose clamps)
5. Nitrile gloves (to keep your hands clean)
6. Clean cotton shop towels
7. RECOMMENDED: new air filter (while you’re there, why not change it as well)
