Default Buying a used car that has been in the accident

I get an offered from local dealership for a used 2006 gx470 with 63k miles for 22.700. The problem is that the truck has been in an accident . I personally check out the record on AutoCheck and it scores the vehicle 92/100. Should i get this vehicle? Thank you for all the feed back.

My honest opinion, stay away from vehicles that have been in accidents. Once a vehicle has been in an accident, it's not the same, and will give you more trouble than pleasure.

It depends on the type of accident and the severity. My 2008 suffered minor plastic bumper damage. No body panel or frame damage. That didn't bother me, since I am going to keep it for a long time and the damage was minor. Buying a car that has been hit, will somewhat affect trade in value later.

the tip for accident history car is call the local police department where accident happened and find out the details, get the info from dealer or see the paperwork yourself = like bycicle was hit? small contact? etc... those are nice buys... if front bumper or rear bumper frame involved then do not buy... anyway if yours is a minor paint scratch type of situation then that is a nice buy... gl

those ml 550 seems to very nice suv but... no 3rd row... small car but heavier than a gx470... very expensive to repair... ugly... etc

but no one cares about what i think...

Thank for the feed back. I am leaning toward the lexus as now but the 7th speed auto tramission and the power of the ml still make me wonder.

well i can tell you for sure that power and mpg are very important things to me, so let the test drive be the deal maker for ya cuz from my experience of having had mercedes bmw infiniti and lexus... brand name is a loosing end game... see which drives better and consider this - 2010 and beyond lexus rx350 - that has to be the best car suv every made period... my gx470 doesn't come near these little suv and the nice thing about them is they were redesigned since 2010 i think to look more masculine but still the best ride for the money bar none... it is smaller tho but if ml 350 or 550 is in your territory then hell why not?

My dd car now is a lexus gs300 and i know how reliable lexuses are. If i ever get ml, it is either ml550 or 63 amg. I sold my m3 to buy a suv and already missed the performance department. I think i will end up with a gx470.

ml 550 is not going to replace an m3. ml 63 AMG is definately ,however its price is out of my reach. I think i will get a used gx470 and save the money for the newer m3 later. Thank alot.
