I hear what you're saying, I feel the same way. I got 134K on it now and common sense is telling me it should be changed. But like I stated earlier Lexus and Toyota don't recommend it, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be done? But right now my trans feels great and no issues and as the saying goes "If it ain't broke don't fix it" so I might hold off for a little and do more research. Will definitely update.

Wait for other replies. Personally, I would not apply this "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" to transmission as this part is tooooooo expensive to fix if it brakes.

Doing a drain and fill isn't going to hurt anything, and will replenish about 1/3 of the fluid, freshening up the detergents and additives in the fluid. Do another one in 6 months, and another 6 months after that, by that point you'll have roughly 3/4 of the fluid replaced, and very low risk of anything going wrong. This gives the fresh detergents a chance to do their thing, and get the dislodged contaminants out with the next drain/fill.

Help! Just bought a used 2018 Lexus GX with 16K and I have an annoying vibration in the driver seat while in park. It does not matter if AC is on or off. The tach is steady at 1400. I have a video showing a water bottle vibrating. Any ideas?? This is my 3rd GX and I have never had this issue!

I would suggest posting a separate topic on this. Congrats on your purchase and hopefully, you will fix the problem soon.

At the top of the forum's main page there is a yellow button in the top left of the screen that says "new", that will start a new thread.

Also, if you've got a '18 you'll want to start that new thread in the 2nd gen section, this is just for GX470's and you'll have a GX460.

Took care of some long overdue noises. I greased all the U joints and that solved all f the weird noises when coming to a stop. Also I had a ton of brake noise and noticed that the spring was missing, so I picked up a set and that noise is gone.

Headlight restoration, gave her a heck of a bath before it goes to the paint shop, installed a 10.1" Tesla display (exact model I bought is this one, it was plug and play for my truck).

Next is a dash cover from Coverlay Manufacturing (arrived today), new front speakers (arrive Saturday), reverse camera and Apple Car Play kit (come in next week or so from AliExpress), fix the trim I broke (see picture), full steam and
Tornador Tornador
cleaning of the interior, getting bumpers and hood resprayed to color match (lots of clear peeling and scratches), timing belt/water pump/thermostat replacement (next week), new LED H11 lowbeams, respray front grille black, then restore wheels after everything else is done. I think that's it.

There is a sticky that goes into great detail about this topic. After a lot of research, I got mine flushed first time @150k miles at a Toyota dealer and have not experienced any problems after 20k miles.

Wow! Does the stock back-up camera work with it? Thanks

I believe so. My didn’t have a backup cam so can’t answer but bought a universal one for $20 and it works great!
