I'm having an intermittent problem with my radio and I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this or has any suggestions to fix. I have an '05 GX with Nav and I have installed the VAIS tech SLS. Everything works fine with the radio, but sometimes when I start the car the radio is turned off, even though the radio was left on when the truck was turned off. This is an intermittent problem and is possibly related to the VAIS unit. Has anyone seen anything like this? Is this a sign of a larger future problem with the Nav unit?

Are you sure the radio is turned off? sometimes my VAIS unit (for XM) doesn't tune when the car is first turned on eventhough radio is turned on. Occasionally it will come on by just trying to change channel. Other times it requires me to reset the ignition (just turning key to start again resets all the electronics).

Quirky yes, but better than not having Sat radio

I'm sure the radio is off. After starting the car when the problem is occurring, I usually turn up the volume as a reaction to the lack of sound and the Nav screen says "Radio Off", or something like that. When I turn the radio back on, it starts at the AM radio setting.

Weird - never had that issue myself.

It's been a while, but might the DIP switches be set wrong?

Also, not fun to do (depending on where you buried the box) but wonder if same would occur if you took SLS out of the loop for a while?
