Yes the Lexus shocks are very different. they are electronically controlled and therefore, extremely expensive to replace (@$2400). There are lots of threads on this site about replacing the electronically controlled shocks with standard shocks made for Toyota 4runners (same vehicle).

You can replace with a non electric Arnott for about $200 per shock, or you could go with a Bilstein 4600 or 5100 (this one is more of an off-road style) for about $300 to $400 for the whole set.

If you really want to get crazy your could go with a Bilstein 6112/5160 combo, which will run about $1300, which is my intention.
