Default Rough idle after hid light install *help!*

So slapped a set of HIDs in the gx tonight. I removed the battery to get everything mounted properly. When I started the truck back up the lights work great but the idle is way off. It's idling around 400-500 rpm for a minute and then it starts revving up to 800-900 and then dies. What the hell!?!?

Took it for test drive. Stalled at a stop sign but by the time I got back home the idle was normal again. Weird eh? Maybe the ECU needed to relearn? Never seen anything like that before. *shrug*

It is very difficult to install HID without removing the battery.

Nothing to do with ECU. Your battery connections need to be tightened.

^^^^ same here, didn't remove the battery. But the battery removal shouldn't impact engine idle. You must have disconnected something else.

Vehicle Idling issues could be with the MAF sensor and the Throttle Body, Have it cleansed, and do a disconnect and reconnect of the battery. You will be good to go. There is no relationship with the HID part at all, they are both independent of its functions, Coincidentally the failure happened when you had the HIDs replaced. Not to worry.
