That's some expensive donuts! I'll venture to guess it includes replacing the timing belt and water pump. Save yourself some $ and take your GX to Toyota, but be forewarned you have to pay for your coffee there.

I was told 90,000 service runs for about $1,500.

Here is the Service chart for 90K

❏ Visually inspect brake pads and rotors
❏ Road-test vehicle
❏ Inspect the following:
___Active height control system (LX)
___Axle shaft boots
___Ball joints and dust covers
___Body
___Brake lines and hoses
___Drive belt
___Engine coolant (see page 68)
Additional Maintenance Required If You Drive Primarily Under the Following Conditions
Driving off-road, on dirt roads or on dusty roads:
❏ Inspect engine air filter
❏ Tighten nuts and bolts on chassis
Driving while towing:
❏ Replace front differential oil (GX, LX)

So you're saying that Lexus doesn't recommend replacing the TB at 90k?

Based on Lexus Corp and SM....lengthy chat...

Get the TB changed because they will have to remove the water pump to get at it ..rather spend $2,300 than $68K PLUS for a new GX....PLUS...if maintained, the vehicle as outlined the GX will last you over 200K miles.....

I'm about to do mine -- ordered the parts from Elmhurst Toyota, everything below plus all the fluids except engine oil for ~$650. Your dealer must be also doing wheel bearings, new rotors and pads, and perhaps other things, otherwise it sounds pretty steep.

it's 90k, timing bell, and now they found the radiator leak, front brake. my total bill would be around $4000.00 plus tax. that is with a 20% off coupon.
they have starbuck and tully coffee, and fresh baked cookies...and the staff are wonderful..any one want to know where this dealer is? i will be happy to share.

LOL $4K sounds insanely expensive to me, even with a new radiator, new brake rotors and pads, and pretty much anything else one might/should realistically replace. Do you have a list of what they're doing?

Default 90,000 service

My 04 GX is coming up to the 90,000 mile mark. Quote from local Toyota dealer was $1050 including timing belt. The Lexus dealer was $950 and included a loaner.
