I am looking for the reverse signal wire & vehicle speed signal wires near the stereo.

I assume both would need to be in the factory wire harness for the factory navigation system.

I have probed the wires that go into the stereo for a power or ground signal triggered by the gear selector being in reverse, but have not found one.

If you know of either, please let me know.

reverse signal you get from the reverse lamp. i can't find the vss either.

Aah you mean stereo as the NAV unit, the back up lamp wire should be grey color coded, which joins the harness as well as a junction connector underneath you Gear Shifter, They merge with a Green/Yellow cable harness to the stop light s/w adjacent to the gear shifter. They split and proceed to the Driver side Fuse box. This inturn connects the ECT. The ECT has got a harness which has a whole bunch of wires which connects the NAV unit. If that is what you have asked. Hope I have answered your query. If you really need the wiring diagram, then you go to the TIS and download the entire schematics for 10/-$ a day.

BUMP FROM THE DEAD!

But, I didn't want to start a new thread for this. I'm having trouble finding the reverse wire as mentioned above. I have the NON-NAV stereo and installing a new HU (Pioneer 5600) and need to connect this wire so that my back up cam will trigger properly. WIll my wire be grey in color at the harness as well?? Thanks so much!
