Would it be possible to upgrade Gen 4 Navi to Gen 5? Would it be enough to swap out the DVD unit under the passenger seat, or the screen and radio in the console also would have to come out? Is the wiring harness and plugs the same? Does anyone know?

My guess is no, and even if it were possible, it is probably prohibitively expensive. Ask yourself--what does gen 5 include that can't be provided by the aftermarket? (I don't actually know the question to this, but I am curious).

the nav screen on the Gen 5 is a higher resolution than the Gen 4 one so I am sure you'll have to change everything including the screen. The plugs are likely different too and depend also on whether you get ML or not.
