sorry to ask but how do you
remove the silver engine cover that has the "V8" on it- it has two plastic bolts deeply recessed ....the idiot dealer probably spilled oil in the recent oil change so i see oil around the engine block directly underneath the fill cap- but want to ensure that there is no leak...i plan to take it back for a check but if i can remove the cover, will have a first hand look at it....thanks

Remove the two plastic nuts and then lift the cover off the threaded studs. The cover is hinged at the back. Once you lift the cover you can take it off the "hinges".The hinges consist of a metal rod with rubber bumpers. Friction is all that is holding the back portion of the cover.

I think they are 3/8" hex head nuts, or 10 or 11mm. I use a nut driver or socket set to unscrew them. After they are loose, yo lift up the cover and remove the nuts from their cavity.
