To Start the GX, press the Lock button twice then press again and hold it.

Guys,
I don't know , but can't remote start have an adverse affect on your engine long term ?
I heard someone mention that one time. What y'all think

Reviving this old thread from the grave. Anyone install a remote start recently? I'd love to hear some feedback or recommendations. Thanks

I had the audiovox prestige starter installed about 5 years ago. No problems.

I'm running a 2-way Compustar (LED remote, not LCD), it's been great.

Local shop is running a special 50% off Code Alarm remote starter for $200. I'm tempted but just worried they may F up the wiring. Are these things plug and play or lots of cutting and splicing involved?

Some cutting & splicing involved, pretty "normal" wiring by current automotive standards though. Definitely go with an installer you trust, or a shop that will stand behind their work at the very least. I'd ask if they soldier and heat shrink all connections, or what their methods involve.
