What are best tires for the GX
What are the best tires to consider for my GX? I can't stand the dunlop/grandtreks that came with it. (I have one dunlop and 3 grandtreks). So I am getting ready to purchase a new set.
I live in Seattle area and drive in a lot of various conditions (yes rain and standing water, but also dry roads, ice and some light snow.) I also take my GX fishing where I go on some dirt roads or short unimproved areas.
My top choices right now are..
Michelin Cross Terrain SUV
Nokian WR SUV
maybe the BF Goodrich or a Les Schwab Toyo, or Yokahamas?
Anyone have good suggestions or experience with tires they are happy with?

I have been reading about the Nokians being great tires. I have heard from several that the Michelins are great too. I wouldn't mind a little more aggressive looking tread. (just to make it look a little more like the great 4x4 it is)

Michelin Cross Terrains would be my choice
I've got 31k on my 06 and I've been very impressed with the Cross Terrains. They are extremely quiet, show very little wear at 31k, and have handled well. They even have performed well in snow on the couple of times a year we head up to the mountains near Big Bear or Mammoth to ski. Icing on the cake is that they're sold at Costco for a good price.

I'm going to get Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo myself when it's time for me to get new tires.
My friend has a 4Runner Limited w/ 265/60/18 that came stock w/ CrossTerrains...he's going to replace them w/ CrossTerrains when it's time for him to replace them.

I would seriously consider LTX A/T-2 if you do mild off-roading. If you just stay on the highway, then any of the above choices (Cross terrains, Dueler H/L, Yokohama Geolander H/T-S) are good.

On our dirt road, they do pick up a lot of gravel and toss it around... if we get any real snow this year, I feel I will be in a lot better situation than last year... GX (with Dunlops) would not turn to save itself in the snow... ended up driving up and over a low curb in a relative dusting...

Cross Terrains, no doubt. Almost everyone who has had these along with other competitor tires rate the CT's significantly better. Or, if you wait about 2 more months you can get the new Michelin Latitude Tour that is being launched with initial delivery to dealerships in the September/October timeframe. They are being phased in as an eventual complete replacement for Cross Terrains, but several sizes of Cross Terrains will remain for a couple years or so. The GX size Cross Terrains will continue to be available during this period. The LT is supposed to be slightly quieter, slightly more fuel efficient (lower rolling resistance) and slightly longer lasting, giving up a little bit in off-road traction. Honestly, it's hard to imagine how the CT could be improved upon as a match for the GX, IMO.

I love the Cross Terrains on my stock 17" wheels, but am thinking of upgrading to 20" aftermarket wheels. Any suggestions on a good 20" tire, since the CTs max out at 18"
