Unhappy No sound radio-Navigation sound OK, Service check: Audio H/U says "Chek" - GX470 2007

I have a GX470 (2005) and suddenly there is no audio from radio and CD. However navigation audio, all the controls, and LCD display (tracks, radio) works fine. I was researching and did the service test (turn tail light off and on three times while holding info) and Audio H/U says "Chek". Please find the attached.

Is this something related to fuse or cable, or perhaps bad amplifier? Going to the dealer is the last thing I want to do

Any help is appreciated.

The Audio Head Unit is the box with the cassette player and main audio controls. There are some threads about how to take apart the dash to remove the head unit. Check the cables behind it for binding/broken wires before assuming it has died.

The fact that DSP-AMP says OK tells you it's not an amp problem.

If the head unit is dead, I've seen replacements on ebay.

I had a similar problem where I had no audio but my navigation worked. It was the amp that caused the problem. I believe united radio it was that corrected my problem for about 475.

Agree. Try unplugging/replugging the "cassette" unit and see if that clears up the problem. Also look for pinched wires - there's a massive connector down by the driver's knee with lots of wires.

I know it's a slim chance on this old thread but if your still around did you get any resolution to the problem? I'm a new owner, 04 GX with ML. Doing a lot of searching right now with same problem. Going to try the diagnostic check now.
