Custom Cat-Back Magnaflow Dual Exhaust !!!New Pics!!!
So, Pearlpower got me all fired up about the dual exhaust thing. So I ordered a Magnaflow 14586 muffler and a pair of Ractive Black Chrome tips. I really wanted to try to do more of a true dual, but the bottom line is that you can't get two pipes up on over the rear axel. So I did very much the same thing as Pearlpower but a little different. I had Stanley's in San Clemente build me a custom unit all the way from the cat back. These guys did a great job! Very clean install with a very nice "Y" just behind the rear axel. They painted all pipes black and the welds and craftsmanship are perfect. I picked it up this afternoon and had to drop it off at Lexus Mission Viejo for 35k service, so I only have one pic to share right now. I will take more from under the car as soon as I get it back.

Awesome job!!!! I like the y-pipe on yours. Mine they just welded into the OEM pipe. How much did they charge?
I took a few of my posts down until I can resize them as the mod here made mention they were too large for her monitor. Hopefully one day I can get those post up again.

They did the whole thing for $450. Add $90 for the muffler and $50 for the tips...not too bad for a new cat back exhaust. They told me that if I did not supply the muffler and tips it would have been $850. So I saved a few buck going on eBay.

Hello I am new and just bought an 04 GX470. Do like the dual set up? Is it still quite on the inside as you cruse. Does it drone at all or is it just nice when you get on it? My wife drives it and I don't want her to say "it's too loud".

loud on the inside. You wouldn't want it any louder. Bear in mind that
there is a resonator attached.
If you add a second exhaust, there is no second resonator.....

CMARSHACK,
Nice job. Did you maintain 3 1/2 piping from CAT to MUFF? What is the diameter from MUFF to exhaust? Let us know if you experience any performance gains, mpg changes, and engine temperature decrease.

That is a very clean install. I'm still waiting to get mine but i don't think i can get around to it until next year since college and unemployment is draining my pockets. lol
cmarshack: When you took it to the shop, what exactly did you tell them to do? I live in a small town and i want to be clear on what i want them to do so that they won't mess it up.
