And all those options on the X5 is insane, by the time you go out the door with the same options as the GX, you will be paying close to $65000.

How do you feel about the reliablity and dependablity problems that we all read about with the Range Rover line of vehicle?

You might look seriously at the new LX570, debuts on Apr 4 at the NY auto show. It will have the new 5.7L V8 on the Tundra but is based on the new landcruiser platform (not the sequoia/tundra platform).

When I was first considering the purchase of my 2004 GX, I test drove the Sequoia, and it felt too big for me at the time.

But after driving the GX for ~3 years now, I'm ready for something slightly bigger but not as obnoxious as the Ford Expedition form factor... so I was hopeful that the rumored JX would indeed be the Lexus version of the Sequoia because that's just a little bit bigger than the GX.

It's sounding more and more like the JX won't be in the same line as the GX/LX stripe levels. So my vote for the JX isn't really for the JX per se, it's a vote for either a slightly bigger GX or the Lexus version of the Sequoia.

I too am excited to see what the new LX will look like, but seeing the most recent LS come out and the new price increase, I assume a loaded LX will at least top $70,000 which is a huge premium to pay for us GX buyers. It's in a different league. I see some leftover 07 LX's being sold for low to mid $60K, but it's still expensive for a vehicle that is outdated and just about to be revamped.

It's weird that I am saying this, but buy American if you want a full size SUV and at a good value, go for the new Tahoe / Yukon's.

The Yukon Denali is even a good deal with the current cashback incentives.

I still paid the higher premium for a new 07 Escalade (basically the same as a Yukon Denali, but around $10K more) however with my GM Friends and Family discount and the dealer willing to give me some additional dealer cash back, I went for the Escalade because I still liked the look better. Also it was still a better deal than it's foreign counter parts like the insanely expensive Range Rover and the expensive LX that was just about to be revamped.

It's a great full size SUV that can fit my 3 kids and serve as my ANTI-MINIVAN Statement!

I'm a LX snob but I think this is good advise. I think they are all getting to be high in quality.

Come on people, lets compare apples to apples. The Yukon is a nice SUV, but its not a LX, I would compare it to maybe a Sequoia or a Landcruiser. The LX should be compare with the Escalade.

I don't think anyone was comparing them. LX/LC in a different fit/finish/quality class, but a lot of people just want a "good" SUV that looks good (I would say the majority of people).

I understand what you are saying but I priced a loaded 2006 GX and a loaded 2007 Escalade and they were comparable in pricing. A loaded LX is in a different price category altogether, more in line with a Land Rover, etc. All of which are outside the Yukon, Denali, etc. comparison. So I slightly disagree and also agree with you.

For reasons based on personal prior brand history I ignored the GM (especially Escalade)/BMW route and went with what has worked so flawlessly for me in the past-GX. One does not own 40+ cars and not learn something in the process.

Depending on the room you need you might look at a 4runner V8? Same vehicle as the GX without some of the bells and whistles.

The 2007 Escalade with the Information Package, Power Glass Sunroof and Climate Package invoice for $57600. The 2007 Lexus LX470 which comes with the nav. and bluetooth and all the options mentioned above invoice for $58600. For a thousand dollars more, there is no question which is a better buy.
