Clunk Fix with new TSB

FYI -

I went to my dealer today and my service advisor noted that there was a TSB released by Lexus today for the clunking driveshaft. I asked him what it entailed, and he mentioned many parts like rear connecting links and so forth... not simply "lube the driveshaft".

We'll see, as more info becomes available. Maybe Lexus finally stepped up to the plate to provide a real solution.

Good news. Lets hope it pans out

And, lets hope that we don't need it!
Thanks for finding this and sharing it. Keep us posted!

DL001-06 is the # .
New shaft and new rear controll arms.

Is this cover under the factory warranty?? This is a manufacture defect so they should cover it, right??

Just had the new fix installed yesterday (under warranty). Guess we will see if it fixes the problem permanently.

Please keep us updated. How long did it take to put in the new drive shaft?

Miller11 04-24-06 10:08 AM

The installation didn't take long. I dropped the vehicle off late Friday and had it back before noon on Saturday. This was the first one for my dealership here in Dallas so I'd guess with experience subsequehnt installations would be even quicker.

I am now on some sort of waiting list for the new drive shaft and whatever else they are replacing under the latest TSB.

My service advisor told me that Lexus only sent their dealership 3 of the new drive shafts. He wasn't sure why Lexus did not send more to all of the dealerships to start with.

Oh well, if any of you get the new parts, let me know if you notice any difference!

where do I go to view this TSB. I'm new to this area. Is this with all years of GX.

What fix did you use? Was it the new TSB that was recently posted on this site?

CdeFabio 05-03-06 05:19 AM
