Clunk Fix with new TSB

So I've done more investigating. Seems the TSB is, "obsolete," as the dealership guy said. Was for 7 years/70k miles. I'm way past both. So looks like I'm on my own.
Going to try greasing it up really well. My guy--who worked as a Toyota tech for many years before opening his own business--wants to try replacing the U-joints if greasing doesn't work. He's skeptical on whether the FCABs are actually the problem--as am I. I had a BMW 3 series. They were notorious for FCABs going bad. I know the feeling, this isn't the same feeling.
Anyway, if all else fails, I guess it's replacing the driveshaft. Anyone got a cross-reference part number for a less expensive version? Lexus want's $600 for theirs.
Thanks.

So I tried to make an appointment at my local dealer yesterday and was told that this TSB was done after the 4yr/50k miles bumper to bumper warranty. Not sure what to do next. Maybe try a different dealer.

Don't know what the part number is.
Had mine replaced over the weekend. Have been driving it since Monday evening and not one clunk yet. Me thinks it solved my problem.

Clunk/Thump
I took my 2005 470 to the dealer today and was told I needed to pay nearly $1,500 and they would not guarantee that the new driveshaft would stop the clunk at intersections.
Does anyone know if any type of class action has been filed over this obvious product defect?
Thanks,
Robert

Driveshaft, it's in the owners manual as a maintainace item. Just remind the dealer when you have your oil changed that you need the zerts on the drivetrain greased and the drive shaft retorqued.

Clunk in rear end of 470
I wish it were as simple as greasing the inserts. That does not work in my vehicle.
Alderson Lexus was of no help and wanted to charge me $1,500 without even any
indication that replacing the drive shaft would solve the problem. My guess is that
the problem is related to the suspension system but I cannot find anyone willing
to fix those annoying bumps that are becoming more numerous.

1) Somewhere in this site there are pictures of a guy taking his propellar shaft off and greasing inside. Looks easy to do and addresses the problem. It has to be repeated in the future.
2) There is a TSB posted in this thread with the instructions for installing the new propeller shaft part #37110-60A40. It is redesigned not just greased up.
I have 89,000 miles on my GX470 and the propeller shaft was replaced at 72,000. It was an immediate fix. Extended Carmax warranty covered it with no charge in 2014. Without the warranty I would have put it in myself to save some money. Hope that helps.
