Default Automatic Height Adjustment Problems

Today is the second straight day my GX has been in the shop to replace the faulty rear height adjustment. It was making lots of noise while going from low to normal and from high to normal. Thankfully, the warranty will cover the repair.

I researched this forum and couldn't find similar occurances but was wondering if anyone else had problems with this feature.

Thanks in advance, and keep up the good posts.

I haven't touched the height control yet but now that you mentioned it, I will play with it to see if everythings smooth. It's set to N right now, so basically what do I do, just shift it to either H or L while it's in park?

As you can see, i'm NOT an offroader... only off roading I do is dipping thru NYC humongus potholes.

Sammy,

The height adjustment is used for loading and unloading stuff from the truck only or like another INGENIUS member stated used to hook up and connect/disconnet a trailer...

The moment your GX470 is rolling (13mph???) or greater the height position levels off back to the NORMAL position and will not stay in HIGH or LOW positions...

Hope this explains it well enough....

Ahhhhh, I see, thank you for clearing that up for me Alex. This is what happens when you go from a sedan to a SUV.

Hey there,

Actually, if you put the truck in 4wd low, it will stay in the high position past 13 mph. I didnt try low on rough terrain, basically because that would be pretty dumb.

The noises you hear by switching from Neutral to High or Low, or any combination thereof, is our highly mentioned Clunk.

I can force the Clunk in my truck by doing the above, although I had the Fix done about a year ago. Under normal driving conditions, I seldom hear the clunk since the Fix.
