change bulb vs put in HID kit.....
Has anyone just put a brighter bulb for lowbeams ( vs putting in the HID kit....) ..I was wondering if the 4300 HID kit makes the rest of the lights (fogs/ headlights etc look yellowish), is it simply better to change the low beams with a slightly brighter bulb (.... may not be as bright as the 4300 but still much better than the stock...?)
if anyone has done so would appreciate some pics - - any issues with this setup assuming bulb wattage is not too different vs stock

GGG Triple X,
Here goes $0.02.
Just upgrade to real HID. Believe me, I went through many bulbs (PIAA, Polarg, Raybrig, Nokya and even no-name bulbs) over the years on many different cars, even the GX. You can't beat the performance of HID. My experience was that I spent more $ on trying so many different bulbs because I was never satisfied than I would have if I just got an aftermarket HID kit. The kits today are so plug and play, the install is almost as easy as changing bulbs.

I just recently installed a brighter bulb for lowbeams anf fogs, cant afford the HIDs. Any HID you put in there will make the rest of the lights look yellowish. Your question was, Is it better to simply put in a brighter bulb than to install HID? If money was no object, then the answer is no, HID are brighter, but the Hoen Xenrange I put in cost $40 bucks and the HID cost $400. The Hoens are maybe 10 to 20% brighter than stock but it runs at 70 watts, the HIDs are 300% brighter than stock and it runs at 20 or 30 watts. Another thing to consider is that on the average, a HID bulb will last 10 times as long as the Hoens. You can do the math, if you can afford $400 for light bulbs then get the HID, if not than Hoen makes the brightest H11 bulbs on the market right now. From what I understand, 70 watts is as high as you want to go without changing the wire harness and the connectors.
