Looking for information on 10 way power passenger front seat. I dont't know why they don't have it on the GX. Does anyone know if there is add-ons, upgrades etc.
On a long trip You miss it when you've had it on your other cars.

I read somewhere that the reason the GX doesn't have the 10 way power passenger seat is because the navigation unit is under the seat and there is no room for the extra motor. But I don't buy that explanation. I believe Lexus just got cheap with the GX. Yet the entry level 06 IS cars have the 10 way power passenger seat. Go figure. They also have both outside rear view mirrors with the chromatic feature for nightime use. We only get the inside one. Another cheap move. But you can't have everything.

Its all about money, the IS doesn't have our awesome 4WD system either. The point is if adding the 10 way power passenger seat cost Lexus another $300 per vehicle, if Lexus sells 40000 GX per year, it would cost them 12 million dollars per year.

They are lucky if they sell 20,000 GX's per year. And if they added the 10 way power seat to the passenger side, they could just raise the price of the vehicle by $300. No big deal.

I believe Lexus sold about 31000 GX in 2005, the $300 figure is just a number I threw out there, my bet is that it is higher than that. I might be willing to pay $200 or $300 for a 10 way passenger seat, but anything higher than that just becomes another force option like the third row seats.
