Default Navigation is Off

When my 7/2005 built GX is at my house, the nav system gives the wrong address #. Any way to correct it?
Even my 10/2004 built 05 Magnum RT showed the proper house number.

'fraid not... You'll have to wait for a new version of the DVD navigation software to become available... The software update should be between $150 ~ $300.... The address, street names, avenue names and locations (restuarants, gas stations, banks, atms) are saved onto the database of the DVD-ROM, if the wrong address was entererd into the database, then you'll have to wait till next year for the next release...

...er, hopefully they'll "know" in advance about this error and will correct it first before making another DVD copy of it... YOu'll have to contact Lexus headquaters to find out:

1. If they "accept" manual updates from owners,
2. If it isn't already too late
3. see if they'll give you a "free" update to the next release since you've FOUND the "wrong" address

Good Luck...

Yeah, my brothers Eclipse nav (same one as Lexus) does the same thing. He just programmed the location, even though it is the wrong address.

I got the same problem with current Lex . Before the GX we had the 99 GS 400 and the Nav. gave the correct # for my house .

Just sit in the driveway (so you have Sat coverage) and program the current location as Home (and rename it had Bob's House, or something).

From then on, you just punch the Home button as your destination.

Default Correct Address

Of course, I know where I live, but it bothers me for the Nav to tell me that I have reached my destination, when I haven't.

Therefore, I changed my address from 11 to 88 so that I get the message as I reach my driveway.

Also, you may have noticed that I changed my number from an odd to an even number, so that the Nav tells me correctly what side of the street my house is on. My street starts out going north and ends up going west.

The Nav assumes that there are 100 addresses in a block. In my street, there are only 18, therefore the big difference in the addresses.

Hmmm, Cap, I still don't get it. Why do you need to do anything with your address, or input a different (offset) address to get it to line up correctly?

If you sit in your real driveway and program current location as Home. Then when you are somewhere and set destination as Home, it will guide you back to your driveway.

Why would you go to the trouble of putting in your address to Nav home?

Also, change the name of the Home location to "Cap's" and it will show on the map, even when not using the Nav function. And as you pull into your driveway the map will show you pulling up to "Cap's".

Yep, my home is in a new subdivision and the new roads are not shown on the navi. but i sat in my driveway and marked it as home and now it looks like my home is in the middle of a corn field

Cool navigation off on 2006

I have a 2006 GX that's 3 weeks old. My navigation is off too. My home address comes up 4 doors down from where I live. When I put in other addresses, it is always off by 3-4 homes. So I had to set it up differently so it actually matches where my house is located. You would think I would have the lastest version, so I don't know if thats the problem. I have read many other replies and everyone seems to think that, but I'm not sure it's accurate.

Default NAV is Off

Somewhere in Lexus literature, I remember reading that the reason the addresses and locations are premature, is to give you a chance to find a safe place to park.
