Does anyone know of an Internet site that sells the Lexus platinum extended warranty at a discount? I know of a few sites and dealers that sells Toyota's platinum extended warranty at a discount over the internet, some as much as 40% off, but I have not had any luck finding a site that discounts the Lexus platinum extended warranty, I have a quote from my local Lexus dealer, which was $2200, 7 years, 75000 miles. That is $800 dollars more than the 4Runner's extended warranty. Way over price in my opinion, since a lot of the things that can go wrong such as electronic sensors, drive train and suspension parts are similar in a loaded 4Runner limited.

They are making some big money on these warranties. I got a platinum 6yr/100K on my Sequoia (which is a Toyota-backed bumper to bumper warranty) and paid ~ $915, which was $100 over dealer cost - warranty retailed at around $1400. You would think some dealer would be willing to negotiate these a bit - I would think you could get for around $1500-$1700.

I was able to find some good bargains on my 4Runner extended warranty, there was a dealer on Toyota-4Runner.org that was selling it for $50 over invoice and a bunch of other dealers selling it over the internet for about $150 to $200 over invoice. For some reason, there seem to be no one who knows of any discount for Lexus extended warranty. It may be that the Lexus dealers have a tighter network than Toyota and they all agree not to sell any extended warranty at a discount over the internet.
