coat hangers
Anyone know any info about the coat hangers that are listed as a change for 2006? Suppossedly they are in the GX's with the third row seating unlike the previous models. I'd like to find out what they are and see if I could order them for my 05.

You can try contacting your local dealer to find out.
Last time I was in for service (2 months ago), the '06's weren't in yet and the salesman didn't know anything about it. I'm taking my '05 in for 10K service next month. I'm planning on going into the showroom to check an '06, if one's there. I'm curious to see if the coat hooks are simple clip ons or an integral part of the grip handle. If it is a permanent part of the grip handle, maybe the grip handle is the same as '05 model, except with the hook .

I took a 197 mile round trip in my GX over the last couple days. I hung clothes on hangers with swivel hooks and placed them on the grab handle on top of the driver's side rear door. Two interesting side notes to this. First, going up into the mountains and down the other side plus some fairly flat areas, the gas mileage was 20 MPG, hand calculated. That surprised me. Second, near my destination, something started blinking on the dash. It was the tire pressure monitor. Pulled over and walked around the truck but the tires looked OK. Upon closer inspection, there was a large nail stuck in the tread of the right rear tire. I put some water on the nail and no bubbles were created. The tire looked OK the next morning so I added a few pounds of air in the tire for the trip home. I was very reluctant to have AAA, a tire shop or the local Lexus dealer touch my truck unless absolutely necessary. My truck got me home OK and I have an appointment where my truck was purchased to repair the tire.

Does anyone know what is the tire pressure warning setpoint is, how low does the tire pressure have to be before the low pressure warning light comes on?
According to a friend of mine that works at the Lexus service department, the reason that Lexus do not have coat hangers in the 1st and 2nd row seat are the side curtain air bags. When it deploys, it will send everything in its way as projectiles.

also - I had the same thing happen with my tire pressure monitor - a nail in the front driver's side tire set it off even though it looked fine. I believe the pressure was around 25psi when I checked it...

My tire pressure warning light went off at 28 psi yesterday! When I got out to look, I thought that I would see a 1/2 flat tire but didn't. 28 psi IS a good set point because driving on low pressure cuts into the life of the tire.
