Default Now getting upper ball joints/control arms done!

Well not soon after replacing the OE shocks all around with OE shocks, replacing the airbags, compressor and reservoir tank, was it discovered my upper ball joints are bad.

I was expecting to do the upper ball joints at sometime in the not to distant future I just wasnt expecting to do them right after doing all of the work. Oh well, the suspension should be in much better shape when im done.s

I replaced mine about a year ago because they were squeaking. They didn't have any slop (yet), but I got tired of listening to them whenever I went over a bump.
Totally worth it, as it improved the handling as well.

It happens, and it will feel great when it's done. I'm assuming they also checked the LCA's and confirmed the bushings aren't shot in them as well?

For this reason, I did uppers, lowers, fronts, rears, bushings, etc when I replaced my OEM suspension with Dobinsons.

I hope it feels great, picking it up today. There was a little noise from up front and the steering at speed just seemed a tad off, little squirrelly. I thought it was more of an alignment issue post front dampers install so took it into Lexus for an alignment.

I would like to think the Lexus tech inspevted the lowers as part of their diagnostic inspection seeing I ddidn't even ask they check the uppers but I guess based on my symptoms they checked it out before I spent money on an alignment.

Lexus doesn't sell the ball joints for the upper separately, it comes an assembly with the control arms which surprised me.

I've lost a lot of blood repairing my son's GX over the last couple of years, not cheap repairs - evaporator, ac lines, shocks, airbags, compressor, reservoir tank, ball joints, injection pump failure. But damn it still drives/rides so good. My wife grumbles about dumping money into it, but my reply is that it's still cheaper than buying something else, paying taxes on that, then there's the unforseen repairs. That and I've taken care of a lot of the expensive stuff already so hopefully it's all down hill from here.
