I have a 2004 GX470 with 233k. There is a terrible front end shake even after replacing both CV Axles, new brakes front and back, and brand new wheels and tires. What else could it be??

 

Lower/upper control arm bushings. Have they been replaced?

 

They haven’t been replaced yet but that’s good to know! I’m taking it back to the shop tomorrow, I’ll have them check. Thanks for the reply!

 

Have them check for worn/cracked rubber in the bushings. Rubber deteriorates not only with miles, but age too.

 

Under what conditions does the front end shake? When braking, when turning, just going straight down the hwy with cruise set?

 

Ball joints.

My guess, the lower A-arm one. The lower one is always loaded under the spring force. The upper one goes along for the ride.

If doing DIY diagnostics, but a cheap go-pro from amzon, but not a real go-pro, strap it in somewhere, record & drive.

 

That’s an excellent idea! I checked them this morning and the joints are ripped. Just dropped it off at the shop this morning. Hopefully that solves the problem! Thank you for your input.
