Default Rear Coil Conversion

I have decided to replace the rear air springs with coils. I replaced the rear shocks about 3 month ago with oem correct shocks meaning they have the wiring harness that connects to the air system. Can anyone tell if when I convert to the rear coils, will need to buy new shocks or do I just simply unplug the current ones from the harness? Also has anyone used the Dorman rear conversion kit that could give me any input to ride quality? Thanks in advance for any help.

There is tons of discussion regarding this all over the forums. The air bag system and the shock system are two different systems. You can use your stock shock system with the selector and replace your air bags with coils. I have a 470 that has been lifted and both systems have been removed. I also have a gx460 and have replaced my rear bags only with the stock Dobinson system, but I have the factory shocks with the ride selector still in tact.

Stock shocks should work fine as long as you’re not putting in lift springs in the back. Otherwise longer shocks are needed.
