Default ML speakers- repair or replace

We have a 2006 470 with blown speakers, undecided if I should repair the foam on the 6x9 front speakers or replace with some new 8ohm ones.
Has anyone replaced them with better sound quality than the originals? Thanks

The factory speaker is 8 ohms? If they are 4 ohms these will sound much better IMO.

Repair. Takes an afternoon, and the kits are pretty cheap from Simply Speakers.

Replace. I put in a moderately priced set of Kenwood speakers and they sound awesome..

Yes, they are 8 ohm, which means it takes a bit more power to drive them (theoretically). My experience though, is they sound awesome, and I DON'T have to crank the volume any more than before to get great sound.

I checked on those speakers and they appear to be 8Ohm, have you had any issues with them?

I replaced my front speakers with Dayton Audio 6.5" woofers. Been very happy with them.
