Default HELP Please!

Hey Ya'll!

I'm a first time poster, as I really haven't had many challenges with my GX470 until now, but looking through some posts I think I could really use some help.

About 2 months ago my radio & entire head unit stopped working. I changed out a fuse under the hood and now JUST the radio sound doesn't work but everything else seems to work fine. When we did the diagnostic on the head unit we get the error code of 61-40 for the head unit and one also for the navigation unit.

Anyone have any idea what this could mean?

Thank you so much in advance!

Not sure, but if you have the Mark Levinson system, it might be fused separately (it has it's own amp).

Thanks Taco_Kid & chiph9 for the response! Got it to an Audio shop, Soundwerks here in Scottsdale, they did a diagnostic on it today and said the ML amp is in need of repair. Got a quote of $800- $1000. Just for repair. Is that normal?

TIA!

You need to just buy a new Mark Levinson amp. Mine took a crap about a year ago and I sourced sone from eBay for 150 and sold my old non functioning unit on eBay for 100. 😄 I will try to find the model number for the amp and post it for you.

Welcome to the forum Rachael!

If your problem is the ML amp, in this case it does sound like it, it will need to be repair/replace. Only two company is authorized by ML to do this service, Lexus and United Radio in NY. Lexus does not repair but they will replace. It will cost over $1000. United Radio is your best bet. They will repair your amp with OE ML parts. I sent my amp to them last week and was quoted $475. They provide 1 year warranty. From the sounds of it, these amp tends to go bad anywhere between 50k-100k miles.

@Taco_Kid, I thought I would be getting an exact issue... unfortunately he said that he would have to pull the amp, retrieve the model # and order a new circuit board for it.

From what we've read it seems as though my next step is ordering a new ML amp off EBAY is my best bet.

@Barnsie, did you find that model # by chance?

TIA!
