Default Cabin Air Filter

I read instructions in the car manual and I'm stuck on Step 2 where it says "unhook the clip". I tried a lot to wiggle this thing but not sure how this comes out. The first picture is from the manual and the second picture is the close up of the actual thing in my car.

Please let me know how this thing comes out so I can insert proceed with replacing the Cabin air filter.

Thanks.

Just pull on the bottom of glove box while open to unhook hinge. Hinge s just clip on an off, don't even have to unhook cable to get to filter. But you can take cable off hook, it retracts

I didn't put too much force to pull from the bottom of the glove box door so it doesn't break. Isn't it necessary to unhook the cable to get the door out of the way? What part of the thing in 2nd picture is supposed to come off?

Just unhook the loop, but to change filter just pull off hing and let it hang from cord, only takes a sex to pull out filter and replace

The best way to remove it is to hold the base of the glove box with your right hand and hold the clip with your left hand. I used this method to avoid breaking the base since both are made of plastic and can break easily if not careful.

OK, so the only thing that comes out is the string? - not the whole thing that's holding it.
The picture on the manual makes it look like the whole thing comes off.

Just take the loop off the tab...it retracts into the spring loaded thing.

Might need a cigarette afterwards, so it's a good thing you're getting a new filter.

I just did this. It is a difficult task the first time you do it.

The entire post/clip in the photo above slides backwards off the side of the glovebox. Do not take the cord off the post!! It is very difficult to get back on.
