Default Advice before looking at 2004 GX...

I currently have a 2004 RX330 and am considering a higher mileage GX, probably a 2004 as it seems that the updates to the 2004 are worth it.

What should I look out for? Other than the standard, timing belt, maintenance records, etc., what should I look for during the test drive.

The 2004's in my price range seem to have about 100K on them which doesn't bother me. I'm most concerned about the TSB on the clunking (I think that's what I've been reading about) and and potential problems with the air suspension. Anything else I should be concerned about or watch out for?

I'm sure there are tons of threads and feel free to post the links. Thanks.

Corroded wheels to begin with, other than the others you mentioned not too many bad things about the GX. It's a great truck

Get some type of aftermarket warranty If the seller doesn't provide one.

If there's any way for you to do so, search for a '05 or newer GX. The engine is bigger, with more HP, and in '07 the NAV system was upgraded. Plus, less miles = less problems.

The clunk comes from the driveshaft. A new driveshaft costs multiple hundreds of dollars, but if you grease the old driveshaft, the clunk will subside for awhile. Then re-grease if/when it comes back.

Did you put Bilsteins front and rear or just rear?
