GX 470 6 CD Player container won't eject

Has anyone else had this problem? I'm hoping it's an easy fix. The cd holder is actually empty, but for some reason it just won't eject when I open the cd door.

Isn't there a button you have to push on the left side of the cartridge? I've only used the changer one time so I may be rusty. :p

if you are referring to the indash 6 cd changer, once in a blue moon some of my cd's would get stuck and i couldn't eject them at that time.

after waiting a day or so, after trying again the cd's would finally come out. i am guessing that while driving, hitting some bumps in the road would jog the cd's free of being stuck.

good luck.

Thank you both for your response. I think my cd device is different from both of yours. Mine is a cartridge that I put six cds in then slide it into the compartment that is inside my glove-box. I still have an LX400 (1997) that has the same system and have never had problems with it. The way the GX470 is supposed to eject the cartridge is to slide the door to the compartment open. When I do, I hear the promising swirling noises, but the container of cds won't come out.

I'm afraid it's going to be big bucks at the dealership to get it corrected.

If the CD cartridge is failing, they are not expensive, the replacement cost is less than 60/- bucks. If you need to do the troubleshooting, after removing the Glove compartment door down , then disconnect the wire harness attached to the cartridge, buy a Air Dust Buster from Radio shack, and carefully clean the moving mechanism parts of the cartridge and refit as required. good luck.
