If you are worry about voiding your warranty, just put the stock box back everytime you go into the dealer for service or inspection. Not too many owners put CAI in the GX, it makes the truck noiser and frankly, its hard to tell a 4 or 5 HP gain in a big truck like this.

While the 4-5hp isn't the biggest gain, the gain in better gas mileage is.

How much gas mileage gain would you say you can get from a CAI. Most owners report very little if any mile gain.

I haven't tested any intakes on the GX, but can say the true flow air filter WILL give at least 1-2 more MPG with highway driving. Any that have it, will also agree.

Some proof here:

That link is for a true flow drop in foam filter, not a CAI. There have been mix results as far as CAI and MPG is concerned. Let us know how your is.

I have had mine in for 3 weeks and I am getting about 0.5-1 mpg better.
Not a bad investment for a filter that you can reuse for 60-80K.

HP and torque? I have no idea and do not care. This SUV has plenty of that for me. In fact I wish it were a V6 like the 4runners gets.

0.5 mpg gain can be due to anything. Perhaps its because its a clean filter, maybe your gas station just change to summer gas, maybe its due to the warmer weather. Like I said, a 0.5 MPG gain cant be cause a number of factors. If you can safely say that, you constantly get a 0.5 MPG for a years or so, then you might have something there.
