Greetings all fellow GX enthusiasts:

Our '04 GX has an after-market rear entertainment system, not the Lexus-RSES, but a DVD player in a part of the center console cupholder area and flush mounted LCD screens in the back of the headrests. I have come to notice in the ceiling (in the same molding as the dome light) there is a small text LCD panel. It never has any characters. Anyone know what this is?

might be the remote control reciever for your dvd unit

 

It's for the Rear Seat Audio System. There should also be a remote control somewhere, if not you can buy them very cheap on eBay. This allows the rear passengers to control the audio system from the rear. And when in use that display shows what radio station, cd, etc they have selected.
