well, i think it sounds like it's going longer prob because it is moving further???
That's why I thought it had changed. It neither moves or sounds as long as I thought I remembered, but I might have been thinking of the right side mirror based on feedback here.
I thought I remembered both sides tilting pretty far down. Now the driver's side tilts down just the tiniest amount. The switch is in the proper position.
When I brought the GX in last time, they just told me it was "normal". Since that is their standard answer for anything that is not hanging out and dragging on the ground, I'm not sure what to think.
I have an 06 GX, although as far as I know this feature hasn't changed over the years.
One thing to consider, is the mirror position in the center of over all movement. I have had situations where you could not make the mirror move very much in one direction. And than when the mirror is moved further over manually ( you usually here it clatter over some type of gearing ) the full movement is returned. If that is the case, move the mirror control all the way down electronically, and see if you can than make it move a little more manually. Once it is in position, re-center the view electronically. That should allow the mirror to travel more when you go into reverse. Anyway, that seemed to do the trick for me ....
Hmmm ... had no idea this was a feature that could even be enabled! <hangs head in embarrassment> Can someone tell me how to enable this feature? I have an '04 GX.
in my 06 GX
off= mirror adjuster select switch in center.
on = move switch to either side and leave it.
simply put in reverse
