Hello Everyone, can someone let me know how someone in the rear can use the headphones and watch the dvd while I can listen to a cd or radio in the front. TIA

You didn't specify complete, but assume you are talking RSES (i.e the DVD system) and wireless headphones.

The headphones (wireless or wired - plugged into the rear jacks) can carry a seperate audio than the car speakers (which are controlled by the front controls).

It the rear is on a different "audio system" than the front (or even if you have audio off from the front) then they can control the stations/tracks. If the front is on the same audio system, then the rear can not control the selection (think of it as "parental override"!).

So for example, for the rear to hear a CD, they use the remote to select an audio source (CD) and go (using the headphones). You can then select FM radio (turn on the system and push FM button) which will play through the car speakers.

Similar for DVD (in the rear) and say, CD up front.

Net: front passenger use the front system per normal, rear passengers use the remote to select and headphones. If the rear selects the same "system" as the front, then they lose control of stations/tracks.

P.S. lots of good information in the manual, starting pg 311 for RSES, pg 263 if just RSAS.

Anyone know the purpose/functin of the electronic display near the dome light? I assume it has something to do with rear audio, but have not played around with it enough to know? Thanks.

Are you talking about the dark tinted plastic area that you can occasionally see dim red LEDs?

If so, that is the IR transmitters for the wireless headphones.

Ya know, my SPR did not even know the GX came with a Rear Audio System. I knew more about the truck than he did. I tried to share my knowledge with him, but, he seemed to think he knew it all.
