Our local dealer wants $285 for another car key, parts and labor. I see on eBay, blank Lexus transponder keys are going for $85.... anyone know the process to program the key to the computer or better yet how to buy a service manual so all the stuff that is "dealer only" could be done at home?

Be careful of those Ebay keys! I've said it more than once, I know!

Make sure you are buying a brand new key and not one that has been refurbished.

With the refurbished keys the old key blade has been dremeled out and a new key blade has been superglued in. This is a key waiting to break!

Some of those Ebay sellers also have a habit of putting the wrong electronic parts into the key so you won't be able to program it to start the car.

Do yourself a favor... Take Sewell Lexus up on their key sale and buy a brand new one!
