Is there anyway one could connect a backup camera (like the Factory one) to the Factory Screeen (NAV). Thanks

yes my GX does come with navigation but i don't have a back up camera.

 

last time we tried to connect something to the screen i think it fail'd :-\ dunno tho
search for the guys thread that had a bunch of screens in it

 

As far as I know if 04' GX comes with Navigation System, the Backup Camera should be equiped with your navigation also. It's a package set!

However, the 03 model did not have the Backup Camera.

Mine is 2004 but doesn't have backup camera. (or the KDSS Suspension). But MY VIN is 2004
any idea on how to hook up back up camera.

 

David'sGX, not all '04 had the backup cam, roll sens airbags, and tire press.warning. If you have a "B" model, you dont have that equipment. You cant simply add a cam to the nav system. There is an entire computer module located in the right pass side interior, dedicated to the cam system.

hey guys

yes... i called lexus today (for some other reasons) and they told me that my car was produced in the begining of NOV 03 and all the cars which were made after 15 NOV 2003 are the ones which came with CAM/TirePressureMonitor/KDSS . with KDSS being the major upgrade.
In a way its not fair since i bought my car in Jan 2004 and was still given a car made prior to 15 NOV. I don't know if there's anything i can do about it.

 

sayadil, one correction. KDSS IS NOT bundled. It is a seperate option. 9700b=no cam, roll sens, tire press. 9700c has the options. KDSS is NOT avail for 9700b. I have a 9700c with no KDSS.

 

so your lexus came without KDSS... did you have the option to get it.... ? if yes, why dint you? if not, then don't you think it wasn't fair on part of the dealer to not tell you about it...

It's depended on when is your GX produced!

sayadil, as for the KDSS, what are you talking about? I knew the KDSS was available. I did not want it.
You can't tow anything with KDSS.
The way I see it, its up to the buyer to do their homework. I found out about the 9700C while setting up the deal. I told the salesperson I wanted a "C" and not a "B". I waited an extra 2 weeks. Got what I wanted.

As I said in the other thread, is your car a Canadian model?
If so, all bets are off. The various items may be different for your car.

 

Why cant you tow anything with KDSS?

 

Lexus states in the owners manual. Towing is NOT recomended with KDSS. You also cant get the towing package with KDSS. It interferes with the suspension system.
