Lightbulb Backup Camera Idea

I am unsure how effective the backup camera is in terms of ascertaining how far you are away from an obstacle but here's a good idea.

To include the backup distance in FT/Inches as text over the camera image. Lexus please take note. If the camera is a wide angle lens it might not be easy to tell how far you are away from something until it is too late. But adding the distance in text over the display image, it would become extremely effective.

Wink

Do you mean a setup of Carmera + Parking Assist?

I only use the Carmera before I start to backup. After the car moves, I still turn around and look with my own eyes.

When I test drove the Infinite FX, before buying the GX, I noticed their backup camera displayed a scale with hash marks to show approximate distances on the monitor. Was a nice touch when I compared it to the RX330, actually liked the FX better then the RX330.

I installed a simple 2 sensor parking assist system in my GX. Works great with audible and visual warnings.

Got it on Ebay. This is the same system, from the same guy. It was sent from Hong Kong and arrived in 4 days! He gives you the option of a few different styles of displays. Look at his other items for sale to see the other units.

I'll take some pics. If you look at the pics on the auction, they really came out like that. I bought a bottle of touch up paint in Blue Meridian, pre painted the sensors. They look good.

I didn't go with this unit because it didn't display in feet. I guess I could figure it out the conversion over a short period of time, and in any book, don't let it get to zero!

But that is why I didn't go with it.

Randy20g,

Where did you settle the main processor? Were you able to hide all the wire?
I don't care about the LED. Integrate the distance number into the LCD screen is a different story.
