Hi All -

Had a strange thing happen today with my 2003 GX470 with 190K. Was picking up kids and turned off the vehicle. Went to turn it on and nothing. Completely dead. Popped the hood and checked the connections to the battery. Everything was fine. Tried to start it, nothing. Embarrassed that I had held up the carpool line, went to start it again. It started right up. On the way home, the power flickered for a minute but engine did not shut off. Got home, tried to lock it, nothing - no power. Went back out later and it started right. Checked codes and had an unrelated ABS code. Checked battery with power load - it tested good.

Any thoughts?

 

Did some more digging. Ecu-b fuse and ECU-2b fuse maybe?

 

Well - those fuses were ok. I should add that it was 95 degrees here today.

 

Ground strap?
Has the truck always been in the South?

Alternator or serpentine belt?

 

Cleaned all grounds. Still had issues. Rig is original from Virginia.

Maybe starter relay? Neutral safety switch? Went out today and it started 5 times in a row.

 

Definitely not the belt. Could be alternator.
