Default Back in England & Remote start Fitted

Well I'm back from vacation in the US some of you may have rad my posts about remote start back in November anyway I said I would let you know how it went we here it s.

I had purchased a viper 5501 keyless entry with remote start ( no alarm) as I wanted to use the oem keyless./Alarm

I also purchased an. i data link DBi-TB-TL module if you are not fitting an Alarm or an ADS-AL i data link if you are fitting an alarm

That was all that was required apart from 4 diodes & 1 resistor 1k value oh and a 5 pin relay

I fitted it last week there are no Hevy gauge wires to connect just the powers for the unit and the module and if you use the data link between the modual and what ever remote start unit you use then there is even less wiring to do. there are just 3 wires to connect to the stop start button and there is NO key to be left in the car at all. Also I can lock it using the button on the handle on the door and arm the oem alarm I can then remote start the car without triggering the oem alarm. ( the reason for this is you can still carry on using the oem keyless unless you want to remote start the car) and the even if you do decide to start it after you locked it with the oem you can still do it.

I was so suprised how easy it was I have not fitted a remote start for about 10 years but this was so simple.

One thing to remember is if you buy a viper remote start it comes standard in manual trans mode and you must change it to auto trans mode before it will work.

I would like to say THANKYOU to member llnus73 who supplied the idata link module and for his
advice

Oh the car is a 2006 GS430.

How do I post pic on this forum ???

If you have ant question just ask I have the data shet for the car and the wire instruction for the viper and the idata link I can email if you like.

Yes please post the wire instructions so we can convert this into the FIRST diy remote start installed. I have always wanted to do this myself and heard its rather easy but the push start on these cars told me not to mess with it.

Any you noted on the Viper its set to Manaul out of the box meaning manual trans cars? never knew they made specific kits for this.

posting pics you can upload them but I suggest to host them to photobucket or any similar website as the pictures will show a lot better. If you need help I can post them for you if you have troubles I can have you forward me the pics and I will take care of them.

Thanks for sharing
